With over 15 years of experience in the design industry, Carmen Coutts has built a reputation for crafting spaces that are as thoughtful as they are beautiful. Growing up surrounded by creativity — in a family of landscape architects, artists, and graphic designers — her love for design evolved naturally, shaping a lifelong appreciation for the way environments influence how we live and feel.

After earning her degree in Interior Design from San Diego State University, Carmen gained extensive experience in both design and construction management. Her hands-on approach and ability to communicate seamlessly with builders and clients alike have made her a trusted voice in the field.

Now as the owner and principal designer of Daughters of Design, Carmen brings her signature balance of artistry and practicality to every project — from ground-up new builds and full-scale remodels to intimate furnishing and styling. Known for her love of color, her work celebrates individuality, warmth, and a sense of story.
